Announcements of the jobs were posted in local newspapers, at the local Workforce Center, various broadcast internet sites, and advertising placed on the stations. KSUM/KFMC will regularly assess and improve recruitment methods and sources by analyzing their effectiveness and making changes as appropriate.

On Wednesday, April 6, 2011, Dan Brookens represented Woodward Broadcasting at the Area Career Exploration event held at Fairmont High School. This job fair hosted more than 400 students from six area high schools. At the event, Dan answered questions about employment opportunities in broadcasting and at KSUM-KFMC specifically. Interested parties were encouraged to fill out a job application and set up a possible interview.
BROADCAST VACANCIES IN 2011:
In 2011, Woodward Broadcasting, KSUM-KFMC radio, had one full-time job opening.
Tonya Aukes was hired as a full-time announcer on November 20, 2011. Tonya was hired after a two-month long process that included advertising of the position in all the aforementioned outreach sources. More than 100 applications were received for the position, from which five interviews were conducted, three over the phone and two in person.
Also in 2011, two part-time announcers were hired. Melissa Ferguson, a student at Fairmont High School, was hired in June and Tyler Jones was hired in August.
