Heaven’s Table Food Shelf began having regular open hours on Tuesday, May 15th. Hours the food shelf will be open are Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:00 to 7:00 PM and Saturday mornings from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. The food shelf is located at 909 Winnebago Avenue in Fairmont. This location is approximately two blocks west of the Ranch Restaurant. Heaven’s Table was formed to help close the hunger gap in Martin County. The Missing Meal Study, completed in 2008 by Second Harvest, indicated a gap of 1.1 million missing meals in Martin County. Heaven’s Table Food Shelf will be partnering with Second Harvest Heartland to purchase food in quantity at reduced prices. Any Martin County resident who is below 200% of the federal poverty level [this is typically a point where people begin looking for food help] or is in crisis, are eligible to receive food. The phone number for Heaven’s Table is 238-5424. Leave a message if no one answers. Heaven’s Table plans to develop satellite locations throughout the county to reach residents in the smaller communities and rural areas. If you are in need in these outlying areas and have transportation limitations, please contact us so we can make arrangements to serve your family.

Heaven’s Table Food Shelf, a newly formed food shelf serving all of Martin County, has recently received their 501[c][3] status as a public charity from the Internal Revenue Service. Donations to the food shelf are exempt from Federal income tax under section 501[c][3] of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions to the Heaven’s Table Food Shelf are deductible under section 170 of the Code. Heaven’s Table is also qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts under section 2055, 2106 or 2522 of the Code. The exemption is effective back to November 18, 2011 when the food shelf formally filed their Articles of Incorporation with the State of Minnesota. The food shelf is located at 909 Winnebago Avenue in Fairmont. Donations can be sent to Heaven’s Table Food Shelf at 1243 Lake Avenue, Suite 333, Fairmont, MN 56031.
