AREA LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES ARE INVESTIGATING A PAIR OF INCIDENTS THAT OCCURED IN THE OVERNIGHT HOURS IN MARTIN COUNTY EARLY WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY MORNINGS.

WEDNESDAY MORNING AT APPROXIMATELY 3:10 AM THE MARTIN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE WAS CALLED TO RURAL NORTHROP FOR A REPORT OF A ROBBERY. WHILE ARRIVING AT HIS PLACE OF WORK A 67 YEAR OLD MALE WAS ASSAULTED AND HIS WALLET TAKEN. THE VICTIM REPORTEDLY HAD BEEN ATTACKED BY MULTIPLE ASSAILANTS. THE VICTIM WAS TREATED FOR HIS INJURIES AT MAYO CLINIC HEALTH SYSTEM-FAIRMONT AND THEN RELEASED. AN ADULT MALE HAS BEEN TAKEN INTO CUSTODY AND THAT INCIDENT REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION. ANYONE WITH INFORMATION REGARDING THE INCIDENT IS ASKED TO CALL THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE AT 507 238 4481.

ANOTHER INCIDENT OCCURED AT APPROXIMATELY 12:30 AM THURSDAY MORNING WHEN A BURGLAR ALARM SOUNDED ON APPLE STREET ON THE NORTH SIDE OF TRIMONT. IT WAS REPORTED THAT TWO INDIVIDUALS HAD BEEN AT THE SCENE OF A BREAK IN AND ATTEMPTED BURGLARY. NOTHING WAS REPORTED TAKEN. A VEHICLE DESCRIPTION MATCHED A VEHICLE THAT HAD REPORTEDLY DRIVEN OFF WITHOUT PAYING FOR GAS AT A BUSINESS IN SHERBURN JUST AFTER 12:15 AM THURSDAY MORNING. THOSE INCIDENTS ARE UNDER INVESTIGATION BY THE TRIMONT AND SHERBURN /WELCOME POLICE DEPARTMENTS.
