STATE REP. BOB GUNTHER OF FAIRMONT HAS BOTH GOOD WORDS AND SOME BAD THOUGHTS ABOUT THE PROPOSED BUDGET THAT MINNESOTA GOVERNOR MARK DAYTON PUT FORTH ON HIS BUDGET PLANS THIS WEEK.

REP. GUNTHER SAYS A LOT OF IT IS MORE TAX AND SPEND SAYING IT TINCREASES SPENDING BY 7.6 PER CENT AND TAXES BY 11.9 PER CENT

ONE GOOD PART OF THE BUDGET PLAN IS HELP FOR EDUCATION ACCORDING TO REP. GUNTHER WHICH INCLUDES A 52 DOLLAR PER DAY PER STUDENT INCREASE AS PART OF A 60 MILLION DOLLAR INCREASE FOR SCHOOL AID WHICH DOES INCLUDE SUPPORT FOR FUNDING ALL DAY KINDERGARTEN ANO OTHER EARLY CHILDHOOD INITIATIVES.

REP. GUNTHER ALSO PRAISED SOME REDUCTIONS IN PERSONAL AND BUSINESS TAXES AND HELP FOR NURSING HOMES. HE SAID THOUGH THAT IS COUNTERED BY A SALES TAX PLAN THAT BROADENS GOODS INCLUDING CLOTHING AND SERVICES AND MEMBERSHIPS THAT WILL NOW BE TAXABLE.
