Beginning April 16th, 2012, the City of Fairmont and Rice Lake Construction will be restricting access to the area west of the existing water treatment plant along Budd Lake. Construction modifications to the existing intake facilities will begin that week and for the safety of the public this area must be restricted to construction operations only.
No fishing will be allowed from shore within the restricted area. This area will remain restricted until the demolition of the existing plant is completed the summer of 2014. The city apologizes for the inconvenience, but looks forward to a new intake facility and the new addition to the park system in 2014.
