A fatal house fire in Blue Earth has killed two two people. 39 year old Rudy Carmona of Blue Earth was a roofer and 47 year old Fidel Bello of Elmore was his cousin, The two had apparently celebrated Cinco de Mayo Saturday night there.
Authorities' believe a lightning strike is what caused the fire, killing the two early Sunday morning. Fire and emergency crews were dispatched just before 5 AM.
The victims were found dead on the living room floor of the burning residence.
Both bodies were taken to Ramsey County for scheduled autopsies. Fire crews say there were no functioning smoke alarms in the house.
The State Fire Marshal and Faribault County Sheriff's Office are still investigating the blaze.
Blue Earth Police,Blue Earth Fire,United Hospital Ambulance and Winnebago Fire assisted at the scene.
