THE MARTIN COUNTY BOARD TUESDAY APPROVED THE REZONING OF PROPERTY OWNED BY MICHAEL BETTIN FROM AG TO INDUSTRIAL FOR THE PURPOSE OF PLACING A READY MIX PLANT AT THE SITE. THE SITE IS LOCATED JUST TO THE NORTH OF BETTIN TRUCKING ALONG HIGHWAY 15 JUST NORTH OF I-90 WITHIN THE FAIRMONT CITY LIMITS. RUTLAND READY MIX WAS ALSO APPROVED BY THE BOARD FOR A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO OPERATE THE PLANT THAT EXPECTS TO EMPLOY FROM 7-12 PEOPLE WHEN THE COMPANY IS UP AND RUNNING.

COMMISSIONERS ALSO APPROVED RATIFICATION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH FRONTIER COMMUNICATIONS FOR INSTALLING A T1 TRUNKLINE TO SERVICE THE FAIRMONT TOWER FOR THE ARMER RADIO COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. THE MONTHLY COST IS 385 DOLLAR A MONTH AND THE SERVICE AGREEMENT IS FOR 5 YEARS. THIS IS A FEDERALLY REQUIRED COMPONENT OF THE COMMUNICATION SERVICE NEEDED.

THE BOARD ALSO GAVE APPROVAL FOR AN OUT STATE TRAVEL EXPENSE REQUEST FROM THE MARTIN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE TO TRANSPORT A PRISONER FROM ANCHORAGE,ALASKA BACK FOR PROSECUTION. THE TOTAL ESTIMATED COST IS 3,518 DOLLARS WHICH CAN BE SUBMITTED TO THE COURT FOR RESTITUTION.
