THE GOAL FOR THIS YEAR'S RED KETTLE DRIVE FOR THE FAIRMONT SALVATION ARMY IS 75,000 DOLLARS ACCORDING TO MAJOR DALE E. HIXENBAUGH FAIRMONT CORPS OFFICER. HE SAYS MONIES ARE ALSO RAISED THIS TIME OF YEAR THROUGH MAIL APPEAL AND OTHER DONATIONS THAT COME IN.

THE SALVATION ARMY HAS SEEN AN INCREASE THIS YEAR IN NEEDED ASSISTANCE. THE MONEY RAISED THOUGHOUT THE CHRISTMAS SEASON WILL BE USED TO FUND THE HOLIDAY FOOD BASKETS AND TOY SHOP. MONEY ALSO GOES TO OPERATING FUNDS THROUGOUT THE YEAR.

THE KETTLES ARE MANNED BY VOLUNTEERS AND THE FAIRMONT SALVATION ARMY IS LOOKING FOR MORE VOLUNTEERS TO RING THE BELLS AND MAN THE KETTLES THROUGH THIS HOLIDAY SEASON. RED KETTLES ARE LOCATED AT HY VEE,FAREWAY,WALGREENS,WALMART,SHOPKO AND THE FIVE LAKES CENTRE SHOPPING MALL IN FAIRMONT.

DONATIONS CAN BE SENT TO THE SALVATION ARMY ,P.O. BOX 167,OR 114 E. BLUE EARTH AVENUE, FAIRMONT,MN 56031. ANY DONATIONS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
