News Release

H1N1 Vaccination Clinics to be held in Blue Earth and Fairmont

For Immediate Release October 27, 2009

Human Services of Faribault and Martin Counties Public Health will be receiving a minimal first shipment of injectable H1N1 vaccine and will be conducting a vaccination clinic for the following priority groups:

· Pregnant women
· Children from 6 months through 4 years of age

If you are not included in either of these two priority groups you will not be able to be vaccinated at this time.

The clinics will be held on a first come first serve basis and will end as soon as the vaccine supply has been exhausted. On the day of the clinics, please stay tuned to local radio, as we will make an announcement when vaccine is no longer available. The vaccine will be administered free of charge.

The date, time and location of the vaccination clinics are as follows:

Date: Monday November 2, 2009
Time: 5-6:30 pm
Location: Faribault County Courthouse Annex (Extension Meeting Room), 412 North Nicollet Street, Blue Earth, Minnesota

Date: Wednesday November 4, 2009
Time: 5-6:30 pm
Location: Martin County Resource Building (Basement Meeting Room), 115 West First Street, Fairmont, Minnesota

As more vaccine arrives, it will be made available, first to priority groups and then to others that would like to be vaccinated. Those that want to be vaccinated and are not part of an established priority group should plan to be vaccinated at a future date. At this point, we anticipate that eventually there will be enough vaccine for anyone who would like to be vaccinated, however, this will most likely not occur until after the first of the year.

If you have any questions regarding the H1N1 vaccination clinics, please contact Carmen Reckard at (507) 238-4757.
