Senator Julie Rosen (R- Fairmont) received a “Public Policy Achievement (Sports)” award for her leadership in helping secure a first-class stadium for the Vikings and for public use by the entire state. The event was held Tuesday in St. Paul as part of the Leaders in Public Policy 2012 program held by Politics in Minnesota and the St. Paul Legal Ledger Capitol Report.

The annual event “recognizes individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions toward Minnesota’s political, public policy or civic environment during the state’s current fiscal year or legislative session.” Minnesota Vikings Vice President of Public Affairs Lester Bagley, Gov. Mark Dayton, and Rep. Morrie Lanning were also honored in the category.

Said Rosen: “The 18 months of hard work put into the legislation, not only by the working group, but by the individuals and citizens helping to shape it made this truly a stadium for all Minnesota. I am proud to have been part of the effort of completing this project that will be enjoyed for many decades.”

Sen. Rosen was the chief Senate author and worked with a diverse team of lawmakers, Vikings officials, and local government representatives to pass legislation for a new multi-purpose stadium in Minneapolis.
